Scott Schroetter, age 57, of Montello, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2007 at his home. He was born on March 19, 1949 in Milwaukee a son of Louis and Rachael (Heyer) Schroetter. Scott faithfully served his country, as a marine, during Vietnam. He served from August 21, 1967 to March 4, 1970. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 5 stars, Vietnamese Campaign Medal with/device, Combat Action Ribbon, Purple Heart, Rifle Marksman Badge and a Good Conduct Medal Award. After the service, Scott was a brick mason working for various individuals. He enjoyed living in Adams County for 20 years. Scott was very independent and proud of the fact he could fend for himself. He enjoyed the outdoors, cutting wood, hunting, cooking and canning food. He especially enjoyed his dog, Lilly. Scott is survived by 4 sisters and 2 brothers; Barbara (Bill) Griswold of Dousman, John Schroetter of Adams Friendship, Tom Schroetter of Watertown, Linda (Bob) Knapp of Clyman, Lana Sue (James) Mehling of Montello, Rochelle Schroetter of North Prairie; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Louis, and his wife Penny, Schroetter and Joseph Schroetter. Scott’s final wishes were to be cremated a have a memorial party in the spring.
